Quality, development and management in higher education were the main subjects at the XIII Higher Education Summit, held by Pontificial Catholic University of Chile (PUC) where u-planner was present in one of the talks and with a booth during the event.
The Summit, which took place between January 11th and the 13th 2017, received experts in education from the United States, Canada, Spain, Colombia, Argentina and other countries from the globe, who offered talks about subjects that had a direct influence in the development of the learning process, such as inclusion, technology, teaching and student growth.
Rita Cruz, Event Coordinator of the University, was satisfied with the results of the event, saying that,
"The V International Education Fair was succesfully held as part of the Higher Education Summit, hosting the best companies who showed their products and services to over 600 attendees for the duration of the event about Direction and School Leadership, focusing in measuring and echanging good practices and methodologies about leadership."
Ensuring quality is one of the top priorities when talking about the learning process, and Isabel Hilliger, Subdirector of Evaluation, Measuring and Quality from the Engineering School of PUC, offered a presentation called “Using a Platform to Improve the System Constantly Towards ABET” to over 40 people, where she mentioned u-improve, a u-planner solution, as a key piece in the development.
With accreditation as its focus, Hilliger explained how to implement a system of continuous improvement (u-improve) and measure learning achievements (u-learning) , thus improving the system at a constant pace and in a timely manner in rubric and course organization with a goal not only set in meeting ABET’s requirements, but to also deliver processes that always points towards the best quality.
u-planner was also present as an exponent during the Education Fair that accompanied the Summit, where they showed their strategies to improve student retention, curriculum management and academic planning in higher education institutions, opportunity where clients, authorities and people interested approached to learn more about the tools that optimize important academic processes in higher education institutions.
“We met education experts from Chile, Colombia and Peru, who mentioned that our solutions fittet to their needs, and how they could solve their issues in minutes", said one of the u-planner representatives, satisfied with the result of the event.
The XIII Higher Education Summit ended on January 13, with a panel by Andrés Bernasconi, Vice dean of the Education Faculty about the future of education, one that has only one direction: implementation with technology and digital processes.
