u-planner will take part as an exhibitor at the 4th BETT Latin America Leadership Summit and Expo, to be held on October 27th and 28th in Mexico City, an international venue where over 2,000 representatives from K-12 and higher education institutions can discover and experiment with technology and software resources for the classroom.
Carolina Arce, u-planner’s Regional Manager Mexico & The Caribbean and Clark Jeria, Regional Manager US & Canada, will discuss resource planning, academic scheduling and retention software for student success at the University as part of this event to:
- Plan the demand for resources.
- Coordinate its curriculum at an institutional level.
- Prepare early warnings for students at risk of leaving school.
In terms of higher education management and resource allocation, motivation is a critical problem for student retention in higher education. Academic planning and monitoring is key to preventing student defection.
“In Latin America, on average, more than 40% of students drop out in their first year. Today, it is possible to effectively predict the risk of defection from the time each student is enrolled in college and monitor him or her all the time”, Carolina Arce explains.
She adds that one of the keys to avoiding defection is to “design actions focused on the causes of the problem and students who are at increased risk.”
Clark Jeria, on the other hand, describes that designing the experience that the student will go through at the University “will help retention and will also bring students to the successful completion of their studies.”
The 4th BETT Latin America Leadership Summit and Expo
