The Center for Mathematical Modeling (CMM) and the Center for Advanced Research in Education (CIAE in Spanish) are currently working together to develop the project MORE – Modeling of Educational Resources; an initiative focused on becoming a planning tool for school placement and structure of the offer of public education.
The project is funded by CORFO through the Innovation Validation and Packing based on R & D Program. The general objective is to create models that optimize resource allocation in the public education system, and in doing so adapt to the demands for greater improvements in quality. The previous can be attained provided developers are aware of the demand per geographical area; by improving on those models it becomes possible to generate an offer (in existing establishments or potential locations) over 5 to 10 year horizons. Once completed the process continues in packing the developed outlines/plans, integrating them with an SIG and improving the algorithms to scale up to larger case studies.
In this context, a meeting was held on May 11th where the attending representatives of CMM, CIAE and U-Planner made their respective presentations for the project; which are available for viewing in the investment cloud, Education area.
